The Mission of The Ritz Group
Now in our 23rd year, the mission of The Ritz Group is to make targeted introductions of business executives and owners to members of capital formation companies in Atlanta . The invitees will include angel investors, private equity firms, investment and merchant banking firms with individuals focused on acquisitions, startups and refinancing.
If you are interested in attending a meeting contact Michael Levine or Mark Diamond to learn more. These meetings are invitation only.
The Ritz Group – November 6, 2008 Thursday afternoon
We are pleased to announce the next meeting of The Ritz Group. Please mark your calendars for Thursday, November 6th.
Our monthly meetings since September have each hosted over 150 participants. Our September and October meetings hosted over 180 attendees each.
We are continually receiving invitation requests from new investors and entrepreneurs almost every day. Please refer more entrepreneurs and investors. Investors are telling us they want to see more 'deals' and less filtering of what business plans they might look at. If you have been unable to attend previous monthly meetings, we have typically hosted angel investors, CEOs or Managing Principals representing the investor, business and consulting community in Atlanta.
We also received word three more companies have been funded as a result of contacts made at the Ritz Group since our June meeting. We are now aware of 8 companies that have received funding which is the highest in the history of the Ritz Group. Please let us know your results, or the results you hear from other attendees.

The Ritz Group began very modestly as a small, informal
networking group meeting most Thursday afternoons in the main
lounge of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Buckhead by Whit Blakeley
in October, 1984. Several years ago, Jim Munson also joined as
a co-host.
Eventually, at the request of several early sponsors including
SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Re/Max of Georgia, The Ritz
Group was enlarged, moved upstairs into a private meeting
room, and attended principally by entrepreneurs, investors and
consultants. At the request of the Ritz staff the size of the
meetings was limited to 50 attendees because of fire codes and
room size.
The Ritz Group meeting format has always been “meet and
greet”. We do not allow presentations or advertising. Also,
there is no charge to anyone attending a Ritz Group meeting. All
costs are paid for by sponsors.
We encourage attendees who are individuals or entrepreneurs
seeking to raise capital for start-ups, multi stage financing or
acquisitions. Investors consist of angels investors, venture
capital firms, private equity and investment banking companies.
In addition, we allow limited attendance by consultants and there
is a waiting list of those consultants wishing to receive an
invitation. All participants are on an invitation only basis, but
individuals and companies requiring capital are continually
invited until funded. We encourage and partner with a number of
investor resources to identify new entrepreneurs and new
investors.
We are very pleased that on average about 4 to 5 participants
receive funding each year as a result of their attendance at Ritz
Group meetings. Funding successes last year in 2006 ranged
from $1 million to $11 million dollars. The previous year, one
participant obtained a $1.2 billion commitment from a Chicago
private equity group as a result of his attendance and networking
at a Ritz Group meeting.
Recently, at the request of investors, we have formed a separate
group called The Ritz Forum. This group will meet quarterly for
the purpose of allowing short business plan presentations to a
small group of targeted investors. The first Ritz Forum dinner
will be targeted to the Technology community. Interested
parties will be receiving invitations shortly.
